On July 15th, Don Neureuther will celebrate his 75th birthday. He will be in Malawi, working alongside TeamLift's three Malawi staff, as well as four students from Notre Dame University who are volunteering. The ND students are teaching computer skills and tutoring our girls at St. Mary's Secondary School for Girls; visiting some of our 300 St. Mary's grads who are now attending college; conducting eye exams and providing prescription glasses for secondary school students, local villagers, and young people at Dzaleka Refugee Camp; and developing a business plan for TeamLift's new sunflower oil processing plant -- the proceeds of which will be used for scholarships for our students.
We'd like to honor Don for the more than 15 years he has spent working in Malawi, by asking you to consider a tax-deductible birthday gift of $75 (or multiples of $75) that will be used to assist our girls in secondary school and college.
The following are typical costs:
$75 provides bus fare for a year
$150 provides clothes, 2 high school uniforms and shoes for a student
$225 food for a college student for one year
$300 pays for a laptop for a college student
$375 - $750 funds a semester's college tuition depending on a girl's field of study.
